02 / YOUR FABRICATION BRIEF
What to send for a useful quotation
A granite worktop, island or vanity needs a fabrication drawing that connects the overall shape with its edges, joints and openings. Send the latest measured dimensions or template reference, not only a room photograph. Identify which details are final and which still need approval before cutting.
Dimensions, layout and joints
Show finished lengths, widths and thicknesses, orientation, backsplash pieces and proposed joint positions. Mark walls or returns that affect the shape. Identify who will confirm site measurements and any unresolved fitting dimensions.
Cut-outs and edge profiles
Provide dimensioned sink, hob and tap openings with model or template references where available. Mark visible edges, profile sections, corner shapes and underside details. Confirm the drawing revision rather than relying on a product name alone.
Appearance and supply scope
Review the material and finish, including the relationship between adjoining pieces. Specify packing and destination. Ask the quotation to distinguish stone fabrication, accessories, transport and any installation services; do not assume these are all included.
Questions before you specify this range
Is a kitchen photograph enough to start cutting?
It can show the intended look, but cannot reliably define dimensions, angles or opening positions. Use it as a reference with measured drawings and relevant templates. Confirm unresolved details and the approved revision before any cutting is agreed.
Should sink and hob details be sent with the enquiry?
Yes. Include the intended models or dimensioned templates and show their positions in the worktop layout. An overall countertop size alone does not describe the openings, visible edges or joints that affect fabrication.
